
A slight rise in water levels in the rivers is observed in the Lviv region.
As of 08:00 on January 26, 2026, the rivers of the region have seen an increase in water levels by 1-6 cm per day. Most rivers are still ice-covered, and some areas exhibit ice phenomena such as frazil ice and ice cover. Due to thawing, ice phenomena are weakening, and in some segments of ice-covered rivers, water is observed on the ice.
The Consultation on Changes in the Hydrological Situation on the Rivers of Lviv Region reports that the next day, due to thawing and precipitation, a slight rise in water levels and further weakening of ice phenomena are expected.
As of 08:00 on January 26, the snow cover in the mountains of Lviv region has decreased to 10-19 cm. An avalanche danger warning is in effect.
