
Changes in the hydrological and snow avalanche situation are observed in the Lviv region.
As of 08:00 on February 18, 2026, water levels in the rivers of the Sian and Dniester basins continued to decrease by 1 – 22 cm. In the plain rivers of the Western Bug basin and the upper reaches of the Styr rivers, due to the thaw, water levels continued to gradually rise by 1 – 13 cm per day. Most rivers in the region cleared of ice, with only a few sections retaining ice phenomena in the form of frazil and ice jams.
The consultation on the change in the hydrological situation of the rivers in the Lviv region reports that on the next day, the water levels in the Dniester basin rivers will continue to fall, while the rest of the region’s rivers will experience fluctuating water levels with a tendency to rise. No changes in the ice situation are expected.
As of 08:00 on February 18, the snow cover height in the mountains of the Lviv region was 2 cm at M Turka, and at M Slavsko the snow had melted. February 19 – 20, the mountains of the Lviv region maintain a low avalanche danger (level 1).
