
Dangerous wartime ammunition rediscovered in the Lviv region
Over the past day in the Lviv region, rescuers received several reports of the discovery of explosive objects from the World War II era.
Detection and neutralization of ammunition
In the morning, the elder of the village Stara Sil, located in Sambir district, reported a found 76 mm artillery shell — locals stumbled upon it while cleaning the area. The ammunition was promptly removed and destroyed by pyrotechnicians of the Lviv region’s State Emergency Service.
On the same day, in the village Hai-Sukhodilski, Zolochiv district, a 152 mm artillery shell was discovered during excavation works. Additionally, in a field near the village of Lypnyk in the Lviv district, a wartime mortar mine was found. All necessary measures for the neutralization of these dangerous findings have been completed.
