An attempt to illegally import a car under the guise of humanitarian aid has been uncovered in Lviv region.
At the Smilnytsia checkpoint, border guards of the 7th Carpathians detachment, together with operational officers, discovered an attempt to illegally import a vehicle. While inspecting vehicles coming from Poland, the attention of the border guards was drawn to a 2016 Mercedes. According to the submitted documents, the car was supposedly intended for one of the charitable foundations in Kyiv. However, during the inspection, it was revealed that the information provided was false – the head of the organization attempted to import the car for personal use, disguising it as a charitable purpose.
A report was drawn up for the man, and the vehicle was confiscated according to established procedures.
