The event is organized by HIAS Ukraine.
HIAS Ukraine is a division of an international charitable organization that began its activities at the end of the 19th century and currently operates on 4 continents in 20 countries.
The organization started direct implementation of programs for psychosocial support of the population and combating gender-based violence in Ukraine in 2022 as a response to the challenges caused by Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. HIAS opened offices in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi and Lviv.
The International Symposium “Supporting Families in Ukraine in Conditions of War” is a platform for dialogue and exchange of experience between international experts working to support families in difficult life circumstances.
During the symposium, issues of support for families affected by war, meeting the psychosocial needs of people affected by war, their social integration and education, etc. will be discussed. Among the symposium participants, in particular, are representatives of the European International Association of Social Workers, the “Mental Health for Ukraine” project, Columbia University, John Mason University, public organizations and projects. Galina Bordun, adviser to the head of the Lviv OVA, coordinator of the Advisory and Coordination Centers of the Lviv Region and medical and psychological assistance at the Main Railway Station of Lviv, will also take part in the event.
