
This evening, at around 7:00 PM, a passenger car caught fire on the bridge connecting the town of Sokal with the village of Zhvyrka over the Western Bug River.
Police officers promptly arrived at the scene. To ensure safety for the firefighters extinguishing the blaze, law enforcement completely closed the bridge to traffic for two hours. This allowed emergency crews to safely put out the fire and clear the roadway of debris.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured. The incident led to temporary traffic congestion, but traffic has since been fully restored.
