Hydrological Situation in Lviv Region on July 15, 2025

The hydrological situation in the Lviv region as of July 15, 2025, is characterized by changes in water levels in the rivers.

According to the data from the hydrometeorological network, the territory of Lviv region experienced rainfall ranging from 0.3 to 14 mm in some areas, with up to 34 mm locally, particularly at the hydropost (HP) of the Rata River in the village of Mezhyrichchya. Over the past day, decreases in water levels of 1-16 cm were observed in rivers of the Sian and Dniester basins. There was a gradual increase in water levels by up to 6 cm on some rivers in the Western Bug basin, except at the HP of the Western Bug River in Kamianka-Buzka city, where the water level rose by 24 cm. The maximum water level in the area of the Poltva River HP in Busk city was recorded on July 14 at 08:00.

Due to expected local precipitation, in the following day in the mountainous part of the Dniester basin, rapid increases in water levels of 0.1-0.5 m above current marks are possible, without negative consequences. Most rivers in the region will continue to experience decreases in water levels. Gradual increases in water levels will continue on some rivers in the Western Bug basin, but a sharp increase in the water level of 0.3-0.5 m is expected at the HP of the Western Bug River in Kamianka-Buzka city, with further expansion of floodplain areas and initial flooding of agricultural lands within the Lviv district.
