Hydrological Situation on the Rivers of Lviv Region: Forecast of Changes

As of 08:00 on May 20, 2025, the hydrological situation on the rivers of the Lviv region has changed.

According to the hydrometeorological network data, the Lviv region received between 0.5 to 12 mm of precipitation per day. As a result, most rivers in the Dniester basin experienced water level rises of 3 – 29 cm, locally up to 32 cm, particularly on the Stryi River in the city of Stryi. On the flat rivers of the San, Western Bug basins, and in the upper reaches of the Styr, there was slight fluctuation in water levels within 1 – 6 cm per day, with a tendency towards rising.

The water temperature on the mountainous tributaries of the Dniester ranged from 3.6 to 7.5°C, on other rivers of the region – from 6.4 to 13.0°C.

The forecast for the next day indicates that most of the rivers in the Dniester basin will predominantly see a decrease in water levels. On the flat rivers of the San, Western Bug basins, and in the upper reaches of the Styr, slight fluctuation in water levels with a tendency towards decrease will be observed.
