On May 25, a tragic accident occurred at the Stepova mine, part of the state enterprise Lvivvuhillia. As a result of the incident, 34-year-old Vasyl Mykhailovych Kostyk, a worker responsible for mine repair operations, lost his life.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. Vasyl Kostyk is survived by his wife and two underage children.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased. The Ministry also emphasized the importance of determining the cause of the tragedy and improving safety protocols in the mining sector.
