January at the Border: Violations and Counteractions in Numbers

The Ukrainian-Polish border within the Lviv region sees ongoing systematic efforts to counteract legal violations.

Throughout January 2026, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment documented instances of forged documents, drug trafficking, and smuggling. Key statistics for the month: 66 forged documents detected, 35 attempts to transport drugs and restricted medications halted, 89 smuggling cases stopped with a total value of nearly 40 million hryvnias, and 602 border law violations identified.

Border guards also executed 1499 assignments from authorized state bodies, handed over six individuals wanted by law enforcement agencies, and responded to one Interpol notice. The servicemen of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment stopped 36 attempts of bribery, with the total amount of improper benefits offered exceeding 115 thousand hryvnias.

During the first month of the year, more than 940,000 people and over 190,000 vehicles crossed the state border in the Lviv region.
