As the holiday season approaches, we remind you about the strict ban on unauthorized cutting of coniferous trees and the liability stipulated by Ukrainian legislation.
Liability for illegal cutting of coniferous trees is provided for in Article 65 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine, which imposes a fine ranging from 510 to 1020 UAH. Additionally, Article 65-1 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine stipulates a fine for illegal transportation, storage, or sale of forest products ranging from 510 to 1020 UAH. Violation of the procedure for the acquisition or sale of natural resources without documents is punishable by a fine of 170 to 510 UAH according to Article 88-1 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine.
Furthermore, offenders are required to compensate for damages as determined by the rates for each cut tree. A legally purchased tree or an artificial Christmas tree is not only a way to foster a festive spirit but also shows respect for the environment and helps avoid legal issues.
Let’s take care of our forests together!
