Passenger Traffic in Lviv Region Increases to 67,000 People

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, a significant increase in passenger traffic is observed in the Lviv region.

All the region’s checkpoints are operating under high load conditions. Vehicles are accumulating in all directions, especially at the checkpoints “Krakivets” and “Shehyni”. Nearly 67,000 people crossed the border in the past day, with the majority entering Ukraine.

To reduce waiting times, it is recommended to plan border crossing during early morning or late evening hours. For bus transportation, the electronic system eCherha is in place, but at the “Shehyni” and “Krakivets” checkpoints, the slotting system has not been implemented, creating additional congestion.

The number of border patrols has been increased, and additional automated workstations have been opened to speed up the procedures. Constant coordination with the Polish side is being carried out.
