Fire in Lviv: Woman born in 1954 rescued

On February 12 at 18:24, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report of a fire on Muzyky Street in the city of Lviv. The fire occurred in an apartment on the second floor of a two-story brick building.

By the time the rescuers arrived at the scene, flames were bursting out of the apartment windows. The building’s residents reported that a woman might be inside.

During the reconnaissance of the fire-engulfed apartment, rescuers found an unconscious woman on the floor. They carried her out to fresh air and handed her over to the medics.

The victim turned out to be the apartment owner, a woman born in 1954. She suffered thermal burns to her head and face as a result of the fire. The medics hospitalized the severely injured woman at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Lviv.

At 18:43, the firefighters localized the fire, and by 18:57, they extinguished the household items fire covering an area of 10 sq. m.

Seventeen rescuers and four units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
