Today, at the age of 86, the renowned Ukrainian poet, prose writer, and public figure Ihor Kalynets has passed away.
The leadership and members of the Lviv Regional Council express sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ihor Kalynets. “Mr. Ihor belonged to the generation of fighters for independence, the ‘sixtiers’, and was a longtime political prisoner of Soviet camps. Together with his wife Iryna, they were examples of resilience, dignity, and true intelligence. We will remember him as a person of indomitable spirit, moral steadfastness, and unspeakable bright sincerity. Eternal and bright memory”, stated the Acting Head of the Lviv Regional Council, Yuriy Kholod.
