Fire at Solokiya River: Extinguishing and Details
On 26.02.2025, a report was received about a wildfire of dry grass near the Solokiya River. A fire broke out near the village of Vaniv (Belz Territorial Community) in Sheptytskyi district on open territory. Dry grass was burning in isolated spots over an area of 2300 sq.m., and peat was burning in isolated spots over an area of 30,000 sq.m.
Fire Extinguishing
During the day of 26.02.2025, by 18:25, the burning of dry grass was extinguished over the entire area, and peat on an area of 5,000 sq.m. using 2 B type spray lines and improvised means (remaining peat burning area of 25,000 sq.m.).
On 27.02.2025, the extinguishing of peat over an area of 25,000 sq.m. continued. Throughout the day of 27.02.2025, peat burning was extinguished over an area of 18,000 sq.m. (remaining 7,000 sq.m.) using 6 B type spray lines and 4 A type spray lines.
On 28.02.2025, peat extinguishing continued over an area of 7,000 sq.m. On 28.02.2025, the peat burning was extinguished at 15:12 using 4 A type spray lines, 6 B type spray lines, and 4 motor pumps across the entire area.

Fire water supply condition: Solokiya River is at a distance of 700 meters, it was used for firefighting purposes.
