Fire in Sheptytsky: Woman Rescued from Smoke-Filled Apartment

A fire occurred in Sheptytsky, which almost cost the apartment owner her life.

On December 16 at 18:30, a report was received about the smell of smoke from an apartment on Bandera Street. Upon the arrival of the fire departments, the apartment was completely filled with toxic combustion products. During reconnaissance in the smoke-filled apartment, firefighters found a woman in the room.

The center of the fire was in the same room – a pillow on the bed where the 51-year-old apartment owner was staying was burning. Rescuers carried the victim to fresh air and handed her over to medics. After examination, the woman refused hospitalization.

Firefighters localized the fire at 18:43 and extinguished it by 18:45. Eight rescuers and two units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. **The probable cause of the fire could have been careless smoking.** Rescuers once again remind everyone that smoking in bed or while intoxicated is one of the most common causes of fires. Protect your life and do not endanger others.
