The Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki opened the first modular town in Lviv.

The first modular town for internally displaced persons started operating on April 19 in Stryj Park in Lviv. At the initiative of the Polish government, temporary housing was established for 350 citizens.

The event was reported in the Lviv Regional Council.

According to the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, such temporary structures are planned to be installed in the near future not only in Lviv, but also in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions destroyed by the war. A total of 5,000 Ukrainians plan to provide temporary housing under the Ukrainian-Polish project. Mateusz Morawiecki attended the opening of the first container town, thanked the local authorities for the prompt implementation of the project and talked to the people who will live here.

“Today I talked here with children from Slovyansk, Mariupol, Bucha. We cannot leave our neighbors in trouble indifferently. After all, the worst is when a person feels lonely. It will be home to women and children whose husbands continue to fight in the war for freedom throughout Europe, in the war against the barbaric regime. At this time, Ukraine is defending the most important European values, first of all the right to life, to freedom. That is why humanitarian aid, aid with the development of such towns is the lowest price that Europeans can pay, “said the Polish Prime Minister and called on European politicians to come and see the heart of Europe beating on the barricades of freedom in Ukraine.

Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov thanked the Polish people for their enormous support, which is important during the war, when more than 10 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes.

“Container towns are a temporary home for our citizens. But the right conditions are in place here. Soon two more such towns will open in Lviv. They will also house 350 people. In total, we plan to provide housing for 5,000 Ukrainians every month, “said Oleksiy Chernyshov. He stressed that in addition to projects for the installation of temporary modular buildings at the state level, programs are being developed to rebuild destroyed buildings and build new housing.
