Border guards in Lviv region actively counteract border violations.
Numerous cases of forgery and smuggling have been detected on the Ukrainian-Polish section. In October, 78 forged documents and 46 attempts to transport drugs and restricted medications were recorded.
Additionally, 94 illegal border crossing attempts and 126 cases of smuggling amounting to nearly 5 million hryvnias were prevented. A total of 675 border legislation violations were identified.
In cooperation with law enforcement, border guards executed 2,677 orders of authorized state bodies, handed over seven persons who were wanted, and recorded 54 hits in the Interpol database.
Throughout October, more than 1.2 million citizens and 274 thousand vehicles crossed the state border in Lviv region. Border guards of the 7th Carpathian Detachment, part of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, enhance the state’s security daily and steadfastly protect the Ukrainian border.
