The Carpathian border detachment, together with customs officers, continues the fight against smuggling. Several attempts to illegally transport equipment and medicines were discovered at the crossing points on the border with Poland.
In ‘Shehyni’, a Volkswagen minibus was stopped, where a 39-year-old resident of Volyn tried to import 179 used laptops, 4 system units, and 560 liters of motor oil. **The value of the discovered items reaches 1 million hryvnias.**
At the ‘Krakivets’ crossing point, two cars were stopped. In a Mercedes minibus, 9 servers and 23 processors were found. *The driver stated that the equipment was handed over in Germany for delivery to Bukovina.*
Another Volkswagen vehicle was carrying antidepressants and weight loss medications worth about 850 thousand hryvnias. The medicines were located in the spare wheel compartment. *According to the 46-year-old resident of Lviv region, he was simply ‘asked to transport’ the parcel from Poland to Lviv.*
The discovered items were confiscated by customs officials and the appropriate protocols were drawn up.
