In the Lviv region, border guards discovered attempts to illegally transport goods from Poland.
At the Shehyni checkpoint, border guards stopped a Mercedes minibus driven by a 40-year-old resident of the Lviv region. During inspection, 37 iPhones of various models were found in the vehicle’s cabin. According to the driver, he received the equipment in Poland and was bringing it to Ukraine for sale. The estimated value of the seized goods is over 1.6 million hryvnias.
At the Smilnytsia checkpoint, border guards thwarted another attempt to import goods without oversight. This time, a 48-year-old resident of the Lviv region attempted to transport 3,380 units of barrier-type contraceptives from Poland. The man also stated that he planned to distribute the products in Ukraine.
All goods were seized in accordance with the established procedure. The operations were carried out in cooperation with customs officials.
