Search and rescue operations are ongoing in Ternopil following the destruction.
Rescue teams worked throughout the night in Ternopil, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing. The whereabouts of 22 people remain unknown as the search continues. Over 230 rescuers from nine regions of Ukraine are involved in the operations. In some areas, work can only be done manually due to severe damage and fragmented structures, complicating the search.
As of now, 26 fatalities have been reported, including three children. “My condolences to the families and loved ones,” stated a representative of the rescue service.
“I thank all of our people who have been working on-site almost continuously for nearly a day. Rescuers, medical staff, police officers – thank you to each and every one,” he added. It is crucial that during such difficult times, despite all the attacks by Russia and the terror, our people always know that they can count on rescue and assistance.
