
August in the Lviv region and Lviv was marked by various weather conditions.
The average monthly air temperature in the region for plains was 17.6 – 18.8°C, and for mountains 15.7 – 16.0°C, which corresponds to the climatic norm. The maximum temperature reached 30 – 33°C, while the minimum dropped to 2 – 9°C. On the night of August 25, 0°C was recorded in Turka.
The amount of precipitation varied from 17 to 71 mm. Precipitation fell unevenly, so August was normal for AMSL Lviv and the meteorological stations Mostyska and Drohobych (81 – 95%), dry for the rest of the meteorological stations (53 – 73%), and very dry for Rava-Ruska and Yavoriv (23 – 37% of the norm).
Maximum wind gusts reached 8 – 14 m/s, only in Mostyska 15 m/s was recorded, and in Drohobych 18 m/s. In Lviv, the average monthly temperature was 18.0°C, the maximum was 29.9°C, and the minimum was 4.3°C, which became a new record for the night of August 25. The total precipitation for the month was 68.6 mm (95% of the norm), and the maximum wind speed was 13 m/s.
