In Drohobych, the older generation actively supports Ukrainian defenders. The clients of the Drohobych City Territorial Center for Social Services have been knitting warm clothes for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for several years now.
“The charitable initiative was started by Zinaida Lebedeva, a client of the center,” notes the Drohobych City Council. Ms. Zinaida conducted workshops on handicrafts, teaching beginners which yarns are best to use and how to properly knit socks for the military. Thanks to such meetings, the circle of volunteers expanded.
Oksana Podolska, Valentina Filonova, and Svitlana Rudneva, along with other clients of the center, regularly produce warm items for the front. During the winter period, they sent 169 pairs of socks made using various techniques. Local volunteers organized the dispatch of aid to soldiers in various combat directions.
“We put our skills and a piece of our soul into every pair of socks,” say the women, sincerely caring for Ukraine’s fate. Their contribution to supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine deserves deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks.
