The opening of the avalanche season has been announced in the mountains of the Lviv region.
During the period from January 6 to 7, due to intensive snow accumulation, as of 08:00 on January 7, according to the hydrometeorological network, the snow depth was 22 – 28 cm. The snow growth was 9 – 18 cm per day. With such conditions, in the mountains of the Lviv region, the avalanche season is declared open.
Avalanche danger warning: From January 7 to 9, due to further snow accumulation in the mid-mountain area of the Lviv region, moderate avalanche danger (level 2) is expected.
