Pet Vaccination in Hryada: An Important Step in Combating Rabies
In Hryada, pets were vaccinated for free🐶🐱. The last immunization took place in 2022 when a rabid fox was found in the community. Therefore, the residents understand the importance of such a measure from experience, particularly today, when the rabies situation has significantly worsened.
Immunization in the Lviv Community
Pets were vaccinated by specialists from the Lviv City State Veterinary Medicine Hospital using the ‘Rabistar red’ vaccine near the office of the Lviv community. Locals brought more than 30 pets for vaccination.
Hryada became the tenth settlement in the Lviv community where pets have been vaccinated. In total, more than 700 animals have been immunized as part of the city initiative. Starting May 1, wild animals, mostly foxes, will also be vaccinated against rabies in the Lviv community. The vaccine is safe for the natural environment and stable in field conditions. Such actions are carried out to prevent the spread of the rabies virus.
