In Lviv this year, 25 people suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning due to human negligence.
“All carbon monoxide poisonings since the beginning of 2026 in Lviv — and there have been 15 — occurred due to non-compliance or violation of gas appliance usage rules,” — reported by the LCC press service.
Since the beginning of the year, 15 cases of poisoning have been recorded, with 25 people affected, including 9 children. **No deaths occurred**. Experts remind of the importance of adhering to basic safety rules with gas appliances.
The main requirement is the supply of fresh air to rooms with heating appliances. **A cleaned ventilation duct** and proper draft are crucial to avoid danger. If symptoms of poisoning occur, appliances should be turned off immediately and help should be called.
