In Lviv, little Ukrainians will draw pictures to help 10-year-old Veronika from Ugledar

This Saturday, November 19, the art event “Country of my Victory” will take place in the Dzyga Art Center (35 Virmenska St., 2nd floor).

Children from different parts of Ukraine, who temporarily found themselves in Lviv, will draw pictures together with the famous artist Natalya Pavlyuk. Funds from the sale of paintings will be directed to the rehabilitation and treatment of 10-year-old Veronika from Vugledar, who miraculously survived during the Russian shelling.

The action in support of the girl is organized by the “Service for Children” department of the Lviv City Council together with the NGO “Care in action”. It starts at 11:00 a.m.

“Thanks to the support of the Dzyga Art Center, children will have the opportunity to experience an artistic atmosphere. Children will be treated to La Piets. Our partners in Poland from the youth association “Klyuch” and “Amma-polska” will hold an auction with these drawings, the funds from which will go to Veronika’s rehabilitation,” says Maria Sakvuk, a leading specialist of the Children’s Service of the Lviv City Council.

Veronika is now being looked after by her adoptive mother, sister Yuliya Flyak. The girl is 10 years old, and she miraculously survived during the Russian shelling. Relatives covered her with themselves, thus saving the child’s life. Veronika is traumatized both physically and psychologically.

“The girl is sociable, she has her deep traumas that existed even before the war, she has injuries, her hands are semi-paralyzed. No one treats her with pity, we communicate with her as usual. She has many questions, wants to talk, mainly about her past, about the house, about those who were with her and what happened to them. She is worried, and it will be for a long time,” says sister Yulia.
