Autumn fertilization of trees is underway in Lviv.
Last week, 140 cherry trees in Pope John Paul II Park received autumn fertilization with YaraTera Krista MKP — monopotassium phosphate, which helps in shoot maturation, strengthening the root system, and increasing the trees’ resistance to winter frosts. Fertilization work will continue this week. In total, the city plans to fertilize over 700 young trees that were planted 2–3 years ago.
“The alley with cherry trees in Pope John Paul II Park has already received the necessary autumn fertilization with YaraTera Krista MKP. We received this fertilizer from our partner, the „Arta Khimgroup“. The company decided to join the „Gift the City a Tree“ campaign in their own way — by gifting fertilizer for nourishing young trees. The provided fertilizer is water-soluble and environmentally safe”, said Oksana Lutsko, Deputy Head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv City Council.
Particular attention will be paid to green plantings along the streets — they suffer the most from a lack of nutrients, compacted poor soil, and the impact of exhaust gases.
