On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Lviv Youth Forum will take place in Lviv for the first time, organized by the Lviv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. The event will bring together active youth, government representatives, NGOs, and partners to discuss the future of youth volunteerism in Ukraine.
The forum’s highlight will be a panel discussion titled:
“How to unite youth, authorities, and civil initiatives to develop the volunteer movement?”
Speakers include:
- Tetyana Kozhokar – Head of the European Youth Capital Office, Lviv City Council
- Vitalii Papp – Youth and Volunteer Development Specialist at the Ukrainian Red Cross
- Olena Poznyakova – Psychologist and Art Therapy Specialist
Additionally, the forum will present the youth-oriented program “Humanitarian Education”, part of the Red Cross’s long-term strategy to promote peace, empathy, and mutual respect among youth.
Key educational programs to be showcased:
- YABC (Youth as Agents of Behavioural Change)
A global initiative by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies launched in 2008 to instill values of non-violence, peace, and inclusion among youth. - Life Skills
A training course focused on developing essential life skills for everyday problem-solving, communication, and social interaction. - Sprint
A learning-by-doing approach that encourages youth to implement small community-based projects, translating knowledge into action. - Conflict Management
A practical training program aimed at developing conflict resolution, stress communication, active listening, and nonviolent communication skills.
The Humanitarian Education program has been operating in Lviv region for over three years. Around 30 Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers have been involved in this initiative, not only undergoing training but also conducting workshops and launching community-based initiatives.
The Lviv Regional Red Cross Organization actively cooperates with:
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
- Lviv Regional Youth Center
- European Youth Capital Office
- Youth groups and NGOs throughout the region
Volunteer youth spaces of the Ukrainian Red Cross are currently active in Sambir, Yavoriv, and the Sheptytsky Center.
