In Lviv, ceremonial events were held to honor the memory of the prominent Ukrainian statesman and public figure Vyacheslav Chornovil.
The ceremony took place near his monument with the participation of servicemen of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, Western Regional Administration, representatives of authorities, public figures, and city residents. Today, the politician, publicist, literary critic, and Hero of Ukraine, who would have turned 88 this year, was remembered. The figure of Vyacheslav Chornovil remains a symbol of indomitable spirit, the struggle for freedom, and national dignity.
He was one of those who openly opposed the totalitarian regime, resolutely condemned repressions against the Ukrainian intelligentsia, and consistently defended the ideas of the revival of the Ukrainian language, culture, and spiritual values. His legacy continues to inspire Ukrainians in their struggle for independence and a democratic future for the state.
