At the ‘Krakivets’ border checkpoint, border guards discovered a collection of antique coins.
During the inspection of a Mercedes minibus, the guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Unit found a samovar, inside which there were 41 coins dated to the 18th-19th centuries.
The vehicle was driven by a 28-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. “It was a delivery I was supposed to transport from Ivano-Frankivsk to Germany”, stated the driver.
The discovered items were confiscated according to established procedures. The origin and historical value of the coins will be determined by an expert examination.
