Summer Travel Season: Situation at the Lviv Border

With the onset of summer holidays and the peak of the tourist season, the border guards of the 7th Border Carpathian Unit are preparing for a significant increase in passenger traffic through the checkpoints in the Lviv region. An increase in travelers by 40% compared to usual levels is expected.

Where are the biggest queues?
“Krakivets” and “Shehyni” are the busiest, especially in the direction of departure from Ukraine. “Rava-Ruska”, “Hrushiv” and “Ugryniv” experience a medium level of traffic. “Nyzhnankovychi” and “Smilnytsia” have the least load and are recommended for those who want to minimize travel time.

When is the best time to cross the border?
For departure from Ukraine, choose weekdays, preferably in the early morning or late evening when the load is lowest. For entering Ukraine, weekends are the better option.

Attention! Temporary restrictions in “Shehyni”
Major repair and modernization works are underway at the “Shehyni” checkpoint. Laying of engineering networks, dismantling of old road surfaces is being carried out, temporarily restricting passenger and freight traffic, particularly in the direction of departure from Ukraine.

Modern control for your safety
The Border Service continues to improve the control system: new technologies are being implemented, international cooperation is expanding, and digital services are emerging to make your journey more comfortable, quick, and safe. Plan your trip in advance, choose the optimal checkpoint and crossing time, and may your journey be easy and pleasant.
