Today, November 10, the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, talked with researchers who were included in the 2% of the most cited scientists in the world in the updated general scientific author databases of standardized citation indicators. The rating was prepared by Elsevier with the support of ICSR Lab based on profiles of scientists on Scopus.
During the meeting, they talked about scientific research in various fields: linguistic, medical, engineering, mathematical, informational, etc. Also, about what scientists need to work in Ukraine without restrictions. After all, the beginning of a full-scale war suspended the work and cooperation of the Lviv region with the Kharkiv, Kyiv and other regions, where there was part of the equipment needed for experiments.
“Thank you for once again demonstrating the professionalism of Ukrainians to the world. Our people adequately represent every industry at the international level. For our part, we will do concrete things that give impetus to further research and the creation of scientific works. We will try to help in all possible ways, including the purchase of equipment that will be used by all higher education institutions as needed,” Maksym Kozytskyi emphasized.
In total, 108 Ukrainians entered the 2022 ranking. In addition to Lviv residents, the list includes scientists from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
From Lviv, the rating includes 8 lecturers from Lviv Polytechnic University, 2 representatives of the Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics named after Ya. S. Pidstrygacha of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and one representative each from the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, the National Forestry University of Ukraine, the Ivan Franko Lviv National University, and the Physico-Mechanical Institute named after G.V. Karpenka of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
