Ukraine received 12 CASEVACs for demining

Approximately 23% of Ukraine’s territory may be potentially contaminated with mines and other explosive devices.

Humanitarian demining is a critical step on the path to the country’s recovery, and the safety of specialists who make the land safe again every day is an important part of this process.

Recently, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine received 12 fully equipped CASEVACs to enhance the safety of teams during demining operations, especially in frontline regions.

The evacuation vehicles, along with specialized medical training, were provided as part of a UNDP project with funding from the governments of Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, and Luxembourg.

Together towards a mine-free Ukraine.
