
A fire broke out in a private pension for the elderly in the village of Bryukhovychi, Lviv district.
Sixty-five people were evacuated from the pension building. Three of them sought medical assistance. Among the injured are a 77-year-old woman residing in the facility and two staff members.
On the scene are an investigative-operational group, crime specialists, a community police officer, patrol police personnel, and rescuers.
A criminal case has been opened under part 1 of article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in connection with the fire. The article provides for a fine, or corrective work, or restriction of freedom, or imprisonment for up to three years.
Law enforcement is establishing the circumstances and causes of the fire. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
