Border Guards Uncovered an Attempt to Illegally Import Equipment Worth a Million Hryvnias
An attempt to illegally import equipment valued at 1.2 million hryvnias was uncovered by the 7th Border Carpathian Detachment at the “Krakivets” checkpoint.
Incident Details
A 45-year-old Moldovan citizen arrived in a Volkswagen minibus registered in Ukraine and attempted to cross the border with undeclared goods. During the inspection, it was discovered that his cargo compartment contained 292 pieces of equipment, including:
- 44 instant print cameras
- 32 portable speakers
- 41 pairs of headphones
- 104 trackers, 26 styluses, and 4 Apple trackpads
- Microphone radio systems, portable hard drives, computer mice, video stabilization equipment.
All the goods were meticulously packed in bags and boxes. Border guards left no room for success in this ‘technical scheme’.
The goods were confiscated, and a protocol was drawn up against the driver for failing to declare goods transported across the border.
