Undeclared Currency Discovered at the Border with Poland

At the ‘Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne’ checkpoint, customs officials discovered undeclared currency in a Mercedes Benz car.

The 32-year-old driver from Rivne chose the ‘red channel’ for customs control, declaring 9,000 euros and 80 dollars. However, an inspection revealed an additional 5,200 euros not indicated in the declaration. An administrative report was made regarding this incident, which implies a fine of 20% of the amount exceeding the permitted limit.

Reminder: when leaving Ukraine, resident individuals must declare currency values if their total is equal to or exceeds the equivalent of 10,000 euros. They must present a passport, a completed declaration, and confirmation of cash withdrawal from bank accounts.

Cash withdrawal receipts are valid for 90 days. Only individuals from whose accounts the money was withdrawn can export the currency.
