A 19th-century icon has been discovered at the Ukrainian-Polish border, and its authenticity will be verified by experts.
At the Ugryniv checkpoint, border guards of the 7th Carpathian unit, in cooperation with customs officers, discovered a presumably antique icon, which, according to preliminary estimates, dates back to the 19th century. The relic was found in the luggage compartment of a Renault car driven by a 42-year-old resident of the Chernihiv region. “The icon is a delivery I was supposed to take to Chernihiv region,” the driver stated. Whether the discovered item has historical or cultural value will be determined by the appropriate expertise.
