On February 12 at 14:22, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report of a fire in the city of Sokal on Kurmanovycha Street, Sheptytskyi district. The fire occurred in a brick residential building covered with metal, measuring 10×11 m.
Rescuers from the cities of Sokal, Sheptytskyi, Sosnivka, and the local fire team from the village of Khorobriv went to the scene.
At the time of arrival, thick black smoke was billowing from the building. Due to heavy smoke, the rescuers had to work in special protective gear for breathing and vision.
At 15:52, the firefighters localized the fire, and at 16:13, they extinguished the fire of the roof and overlaps of the building covering an area of 110 sq. m.
A total of 11 rescuers and 3 pieces of special equipment from the State Emergency Service, as well as 4 workers and 1 piece of special equipment from the local fire team, were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The causes and circumstances of the fire are being investigated.
No one was injured during the fire.
