Fire in Sosnivka: Rapid Extinguishing and Saved Houses
On April 24 at 14:50, a report of a fire on open land in Sosnivka, Sheptytskyi District, was received by the Rescue Service ‘101’.
Firefighters’ Actions
Upon the arrival of the emergency services, 9 abandoned wooden cottages and dry grass with shrubs were burning in separate areas on a 1500 sqm area. There was a threat of the fire spreading to nearby cottage buildings.
By 15:54 firefighters had localized, and by 16:09 extinguished the fire, saving 12 cottages from the flames.
- 10 rescuers and 2 units of special equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Call to Residents
The Main Directorate of the SES of Ukraine in the Lviv region urges all residents to cease burning dry grass. If you witness an arson, report it immediately to the fire service and the police, even if the arsonist is your neighbor or acquaintance.
We remind you that setting dry grass on fire is punishable by law:
- for citizens, a fine from 3,060 UAH to 6,120 UAH,
- for officials, a fine from 15,300 UAH to 21,420 UAH.
