With the full-scale invasion of the Russian aggressor on the Ukrainian lands, the water company of the city of Krakow, headed by its president Piotr Zientara, was one of the first to form a humanitarian cargo and send it to Drohobych. Thus, from the first days of the war, the Polish partners supported the city of Kotermak and the forcibly displaced persons with necessary things and continue to do so systematically.
So, last weekend, the head of KP “Drohobychvodokanal” Roman Shagala and the director of CU “Institute of the City of Drohobych” Volodymyr Kondzolka took a working trip to Krakow. As part of this trip, Drohobytsk Vodokanal received an important present – a sewage machine. Roman Chagala and First Deputy Mayor of Krakow Andrzej Kulig signed the deed of ceremonial transfer of the car.
Since the Polish carriers maintain a blockade of the border, it was difficult to predict in advance whether it would be possible to deliver the car to Drohobych. But not without the help of good people, the car is already on the basis of KP “Drohobychvodokanal”. On November 28, Drohobych Mayor Taras Kuchma inspected the new equipment at the enterprise.
Today, Polish colleagues once again showed their solidarity and support. The board of the Kraków water utility was one of the first to direct aid to the Ukrainian people after February 24. We have established good cooperation over several years. We are proud that our water utility has partners who not only share their experience, but also support us in the confrontation with the enemy and lend a helping hand in difficult times. Once again, we express our gratitude to Piotr Zientara, the president of the board of Krakow Water Company, for his friendship and gesture of goodwill. Together to victory!, Taras Kuchma noted.
The director of the institute of the city of Drohobych, Volodymyr Kondzolka, ensured the logistics of the route, agreements, contracts and declarations. The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Przemyśl, Oleksandr Bachek, Pavlo Khomyk, a representative of the “Greinplast” management, who headed the humanitarian aid hub for Ukraine in Przemyśl at the beginning of the war, and Janusz Kiška, the commandant of the police in Przemyśl, contributed to the successful crossing of the border.
As the head of KP “Drohobychvodokanal” Roman Shagala noted, the presence of a specialized vehicle will open up new opportunities for the company. Due to the lack of technological resources, the water utility only carried out emergency and repair work on sewage networks. Now, thanks to the availability of specialized equipment, one team will eliminate emergency situations, and the second will work to anticipate problems – will carry out scheduled maintenance of sewers.
