Summer is a time for vacations, walks, and visiting places with large crowds of people.
Here are a few tips to protect yourself from pickpockets in crowded areas:
- Keep your bag or backpack in front of you, rather than on your shoulder or back.
- Securely store your wallet, valuables, documents, phones, and keys in the inner pockets of your bag or backpack.
- Carry only a small amount of cash.
- Hold on tightly to your belongings when approached by a stranger on the street or when someone presses against you in a crowd or on public transport.
- Memorize necessary PIN codes for your bank cards, and do not keep them on paper in your wallet.
If you witness any violations, report them to the hotlines – 102, 112.
