Changes in Border Crossing Rules for Women Deputies

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed the border crossing rules for women deputies of local councils.

Henceforth, the restrictions provided for in paragraph 2-14 of the Rules for Crossing the State Border by Citizens of Ukraine, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution of January 27, 1995 No. 57, do not apply to women deputies of local councils. However, an exception is made for those female deputies who are officials of local self-government.

This means that women who are deputies of local councils can travel abroad without restrictions. Female deputies who work in local self-government bodies, have appropriate official powers related to the organizational, administrative, and advisory functions, and receive salaries funded by the local budget, have the right to cross the state border based on relevant decisions regarding official business trips. Also, for the purpose of visiting children who are abroad or escorting such children to leave Ukraine.

It should be noted that the departure of the aforementioned category of persons from Ukraine will only be allowed after the relevant databases are updated in the manner and timeframe determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
