Art critic, director of the Lviv Art Gallery Borys Voznytskyi was born 97 years ago

He was a real guardian angel of Ukrainian cultural heritage.

Today, Boris Voznytskyi could be celebrating his 97th birthday – Ukrainian art critic, director of the Lviv Art Gallery, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts, Hero of Ukraine, Knight of the Order of Merit II degree, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Award, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine and Poland, President of the Ukrainian of the National Committee of the International Council of Museums.

“We thank Boris Hryhorovych for tens of thousands of saved exhibits, for preserved castles, for museums that were created thanks to him. Thank you for reminding Ukrainians and the whole world who Ivan Georgy Pinzel is. You were a real guardian angel of Ukrainian cultural heritage. We remember,” emphasized Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv OVA.

Boris Voznytskyi died in a car accident caused by a heart attack on May 23, 2012. The man was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv (field No. 67).
