A grand concert was held at the Lviv Opera Theater for the birthday of Solomiya Krushelnytska

On September 23, on the day of the 150th anniversary of Solomia Krushelnytska, the grand concert “Solomia. Brava!”.

Among the performers are singers from all opera theaters of Ukraine, soloists, choir and orchestra of the Lviv National Opera, invited star conductor – Italian Alberto Veronesi. The maestro collaborated with opera theaters and symphony orchestras in Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and the USA, and he appeared on the Lviv stage for the first time.

Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the concert.

“This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of world legend Solomiya Krushelnytskyi. The fate of this talented performer is very closely connected not only with Ukraine, but also with Italy, where she also contributed to the local opera culture. Tonight will show how rich her talent was. I hope that culture and opera in particular will demonstrate our unity in the face of the threat that looms over the whole world. Glory to the ZSU!” said the Minister of Culture.

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytsky also joined in the congratulations.

“Solomia Krushelnytska was the embodiment of Ukraine itself: charming, beautiful and extremely talented. I am very grateful to the team of the theater, which is named after this brilliant opera singer, for creating a modern Ukrainian cultural state right here. I thank the Armed Forces and everyone present for their contribution to the development of modern Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!” – emphasized the head of the Lviv Oblast.

Also, during the celebration of the anniversary of Solomiya Krushelnytska, the guests of the holiday could learn more about her life and work, in particular, the exhibition on the first balcony of the theater – “History of Triumph” and the lecture-concert “Known and Unknown Krushelnytska” were dedicated to this.

Famous works of world art: the opera “Madame Butterfly” by G. Puccini, the ballet “The Return of the Butterfly” by G. Puccini – M. Skoryk, the drama “Salome” by N. Davydovskaya will be performed on the main and chamber stages of the theater in honor of the singer. And Solomiya will also appear on the pages of Oleksandr Balabak’s new book “Kimono for Butterfly”, the presentation of which will take place in the Hall of Mirrors of the theater.

Two concerts will close the series of anniversary events: Italian virtuoso guitarist Simone Onnis, who will perform famous opera arias, in particular, in an instrumental translation; the youngest musicians of Lviv studying at the Solomia Krushelnytska Music Lyceum will also impress, and will dedicate their performance to the patroness.
