The project for the maintenance and reconstruction of the Culture and Recreation Park in Drohobych has been officially approved.
The project, developed by the National Forestry University, was presented by Natalia Kotsyuba from the Department of Urban Economy. The park was established in 1984 by a decision of the Lviv Regional Council. It has been included in the nature reserve fund to preserve its unique landscape and atmosphere.
Preservation of ornamental green plantations is a key task for maintaining cultural heritage. The project includes inventory research of trees, assessment of vegetation and infrastructure conditions. A total of 194 trees have been studied with detailed descriptions of their characteristics.
An important part of the project is the zoning of the park area for various types of recreation. “The project outlines strategic priorities and measures for the preservation of the park’s values,” stated the city council.
