The film ‘Before Dawn’ received an award at a festival in Paris.
Lviv native Oleksandr Denysenko gained international recognition as his film ‘Before Dawn’ won the ‘Best Music Video’ award at the ÉCU – European Independent Film Awards in Paris. ‘We dreamed that the voice of Ukraine would be heard, and today this dream is coming true. If the film makes the world look at Ukraine differently, then we were right in our choice’, emphasized the director. Oleksandr dedicated his work to the Ukrainian defenders, noting: ‘While they hold the sky – we hold the meaning’.
‘Before Dawn’ tells the story of a woman who, despite pain and loss, chooses to fight for life. The film is based on a new performance of the song ‘Vzhy Sontse Nyzenko’. We are proud of the achievements of Oleksandr and his team.
The film has already been selected for over 20 international festivals, which is proof of the ability of Ukrainian cinema to enter the world stage.
