French carpenters who rebuilt Notre-Dame to help restore Lviv

French carpenters who took part in rebuilding the wooden structures of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris after the 2019 fire have arrived in Lviv. The craftsmen work with the association “Carpenters Without Borders” and aim to apply their experience to the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

During their visit to Lviv, the specialists inspected buildings on Soborna Square, as well as on Melnyka and Konovaltsia streets, which were damaged by Russian shelling.

Following the meetings, they agreed to work on joint projects to restore Lviv’s damaged historic architecture and to train a new generation of restorers.
