Cabinet of Ministers Added 193 Objects to the Register of Monuments of Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision to add 193 national heritage sites to the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine.

Among the new entries in the register are sacred landmarks of our city, such as the Church of St. George of the Basilian Monastery (1771–1776) and the Basilian Monastery Cells (1772–1809). Also included in the list is the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit of the Bernardine Monastery (1747–1760), now known as the St. Vladimir Cathedral, and the Bernardine Monastery Cells (1695–1767).

“The Government’s decision is aimed at the preservation and state accounting of important historical, architectural, and cultural landmarks, as well as strengthening their legal protection. Thanks to these resolutions, cultural heritage sites receive additional guarantees of protection and opportunities for further preservation and popularization,” stated Olena Vasylko, Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

It is worth noting that the Potocki Palace was added to the register in previous years.
