Despite the war, cultural defence must continue – so the International SchulzFest will go ahead!

In early July, Drohobych residents and guests are invited to the XI International Bruno Schulz Festival, which will take place in the city of the author of “Cinnamon Shops” on 7-13 July.

SchulzFest ’24 aims to build a series of interpenetrating events and artistic activities: poetry in shelters, performances by talented authors and musicians, plays, performances, and the parallel strand BrunoFourever, which will bring together writers, musicians, theatre and visual artists, and intellectuals from several countries in Europe and around the world.

Like two years ago, the festival organisers will place a special emphasis on poems in shelters, during which they will read and comment on poems in Drohobych shelters.

During the Festival, connoisseurs of the art and works of Bruno Schulz will have the opportunity to listen to and meet Ryszard Krynicki, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Jurij Prochaska, Pavel Pruchniak, and others. Alfred Wierzbicki, Yuriy Vynnychuk, Ostap Slyvynsky, Jacek Podsiadlo, Tomasz Różycki, Bogumila Berdychowska, Oleksandr Boychenko, Hryhoriy Semenchuk, Adam Michnik, Grzegorz Gauden, Olena Rybka, Katarzyna Kuczynska-Koszany, Natalia Tkachyk, Krzysztof Chyzewski, Wlodek Kaufman, Oleksandr Irvants, Danylo Ilnytskyi and other dear participants.
